What you'll do
This Origami (paper folding) experience is engaging, enjoyable, and informative.
* You can make a request for a time/date not listed, mostly I can be available.
Origami unites people and creates happiness, resulting in peace and smiles all around the world. It's quite versatile: easy to start, stimulating imagination and creativity, calming the mind (a Zen moment), and good to feel the history behind it.
A helpful handout pdf will be sent to attendees registered to this site.
- In the class:
0-5 min, Opening remark & introduction
5-30 min, Origami story, demonstration and lecture on easy creature.
30-35 min, Virtual Japan tour: Local photo sharing by Teru.
35-60 min, Lecture on Origami Crane (w/pro method).
Some others if time allows.
Using 3-5 sheets of origami paper (6x6 inch square) which you will prepare, you'll be walked through each step of folding (with both of face camera and table camera of Teru). You'll have two or three origami works completed in the class.

Join a local origami class lectured by Teru, an international origami instructor, at Tokyo Origami Museum, Honjo 1-31-5, Sumida-ku, Tokyo, JP, 130-0004.

Great for family or friends to experience Japanese origami (paper folding) with feeling the history behind it, which is easy to start, stimulating imagination and creativity, and calming the mind (Zen moment). Private group booking is available.
In the class, you will
- know the history of origami.
- be walked through each step of folding by Teru.
- can get help from Japanese attendees. (if they are available and you may make friends with them.)
- can take a couple of your completed origami models (and origami papers and a textbook per group for a gift) home with you.
Also, Teru can take you on a short tour of an origami gallery called Tokyo Origami Museum, where beautiful works are exhibited, and various origami papers and books are available.
Sometimes we need to have the class at a room nearby due to the class room unavailability, e.g. on Jan 13 and 23.
